3. Get Started

This section covers how to begin using ORO, from setting up your wallet to minting and staking gold.

3.1 Create or Connect a Wallet

ORO is built on Solana. To get started, you’ll need a wallet that supports Solana-based assets.

A. Connect a Solana Wallet

Use any popular wallet such as:

  • Phantom

  • Backpack

  • Solflare

  • Ledger (via wallet adapter)

  • Many others available

B. Use Social Login (Email, Twitter (X), Github, or Google)

Don’t have a crypto wallet yet? No problem.

ORO supports secure social login via Privy allowing you to:

  • Sign in using your email, Twitter (X), GitHub, or Google account

  • Automatically create a non-custodial wallet in the background

  • Start using ORO without handling seed phrases

Your wallet remains under your control and is full self-custody throughout.

3.2 Complete KYC or KYB

To mint and redeem $GOLD, users must complete identity verification. This is required under our compliance framework to prevent misuse and ensure secure transactions.

  • Individuals: Submit a government ID and a quick liveness check

  • Entities: Provide business registration documents, authorized signatory info, and verification

All verifications are processed securely by licensed third-party providers (Sumsub). Once approved, your wallet is whitelisted for minting and redemption.

3.3 Fund with USDC

To mint $GOLD, you’ll need USDC on Solana (SPL) in your wallet. There are several easy ways to fund your wallet:

A. Traditional Crypto Methods

  • Bridge USDC from Ethereum, Polygon, or other chains using supported bridges

  • Withdraw USDC from a centralized exchange (Coinbase, Binance, etc.) directly to your Solana address

  • Receive USDC from another Solana wallet

B. Card and Local Payment Options (New)

  • Buy USDC instantly using credit/debit cards

  • Deposit directly into your wallet via local bank rails (region-specific)

These options are powered by Coinflow and Sphere, offering a fast, compliant, and user-friendly experience (no need to leave the ORO app)

C. Important Note

Make sure your wallet has enough USDC to:

  • Cover the amount of $GOLD you want to mint

  • Pay the associated minting fee

3.4 Mint $GOLD

Once your wallet is whitelisted and funded:

  1. Go to the ORO app

  1. Enter the amount of USDC you want to convert

  1. Confirm the swap (USDC to GOLD)

  1. $GOLD will be minted 1:1 (minus the minting fee)

  1. You’ll receive $GOLD instantly in your wallet

$GOLD is freely transferable, viewable in your wallet, and ready to stake, send, or redeem.

3.5 Stake $GOLD

To earn yield:

  1. Select the amount of $GOLD to stake

  1. Confirm the transaction in your wallet

  1. Your $GOLD will be allocated into institutional gold leasing

  1. You’ll begin accruing yield, paid monthly in $GOLD

There is a 12-month lockup period initially. You can track staking status and claim yield from the ORO app dashboard.

3.6 Redeem $GOLD

You can redeem $GOLD at any time via:

  • USDC redemption

  • Vault transfer

  • Physical delivery

Redemption requires KYC and may include delivery or settlement fees depending on the method chosen. See Section 6 for full details on redemption options and timelines.
